{This is the first in a series about our favorite tasting rooms, wineries and vineyards in the Willamette Valley.}
Known affectionately to us our “wine country back yard”, Stoller Family Estate is on both our personal weekly rotation and our must-go list for guests visiting the Willamette Valley.
We’re not the only ones who think so, of course. Recently voted USA Today’s Reader’s Choice Best Tasting Room for 2018, Stoller continues to gain both local and international fans, attracting guests to their stunner of a vineyard and tasting room in the Dundee Hills.
What we love about Stoller:
Finding a time to visit is easy: The tasting room is open every day, without appointment, from 11am to 5pm. Making plans with last-minute guests or those with hard-to-coordinate schedules is not a problem.
There’s something for everyone: From Pinot Noir to Chardonnay, Riesling, Rosé and Syrah, the wide selection of offerings (and price points) means that everyone in your group should be able to find something they’ll love.
And everyone is welcome: It’s one of the most kid and dog-friendly spots in the valley, with large grassy play and run areas, a tire swing in the vineyard, tons of picnic tables and seating, and a friendly and patient staff.
You can stay awhile: Outside food is welcome, with great seating and picnic areas available, but they also serve gorgeous cheese and charcuterie plates – so all bases are covered.
It’s beautiful, local and sustainable: With B Corp status, LIVE certification, LEED certification and the history and deep roots of the Stoller family in the valley, you can feel good about spending your money here.
The member perks: Their wine club is approachable and beneficial, with a reasonable minimum allotment of 12 bottles per year, a 20% discount on bottle purchases to enjoy on-site, and fun free member events throughout the year. They also have a members-only Legacy Room next to the main tasting room, with dedicated indoor and outdoor seating with table service (really helpful during the busy summer months).
Overall, Stoller is a place we know our guests will enjoy and want to return to, which makes it a no-brainer recommendation on our list. Rosé season is here – what are you waiting for?
