Whether or not you are a lover of Beaux Frères, Sequitur – the “it follows” project of Michael Etzel and his wife, Carey – deserves a place on your must-visit list. It checks all my boxes: story/history, aesthetics of the winery and tasting room, beauty of the land, and (most important) the wine is stellar. With the production here exclusively from their single estate vineyard, the uniqueness of each vintage shines through.
I’m a bit biased, as son Mikey Etzel is my favorite winemaker, but I think you will fall in love with this place, too. Organic/bio-dynamic, very low production, simply stunning. If you’re able, ask for a tour of the winery and barrel room; there is nothing else like it in the Willamette Valley.
